Plain Scones
We like scones best when they
have the perfect mix of moisture
and fluffiness – so we chaff them
by hand. ‘To chaff’ is no longer
a commonly used verb. This is
because ‘chaffing’ is a terribly
delicate but time consuming
kneading process that only a few
devoted/deranged bakers like us
still practice.
